DORA 2009

DORA is only one year away from becoming of age. 17th edition of the Croatian national selection for Eurovision Song Contest was held in Opatija, February 27 and 28, 2009. (one semifinal and final evening)

The song selection model was the same as the one introduced back in 2008 - 14 songs for the semifinal are selected on the public tender procedure. Only 6 of them will make it to the finals.

10 songs that are directly placed in the finals have been selected in the restricred tender procedure.

Televoting only will decide which 6 songs from the semifinals are to be placed in the final evening of DORA 2009.

When it comes to voting in the finals, the model will be: 50% televoting + 50% from the jury.

Both evenings of 2009 DORA have been very interesting even when it comes to the opening acts and showprogramme. Semi-final was opened by the National Folk Dance Ansamble of Croatia "Lado" with their worldwide accepted acts. Showprogramme was in Eurovision style - The Brotherhood of Man were guests. (winner of the 1976 ESC, Save your kisses for me)

Kraljevi ulice & 75 Cent (Croatia 2008) opened the final evening of the Contest. After we saw all 16 finalists - the showprogramme was to begin - with Paul Young being a guest star! In case you don't know who he is we'll give you a quick reminder - Love is in the air & Every time you go away.
