clanak ogaesc201833rd OGAE Song Contest was hosted by OGAE Australia. 29 songs competed and United Kingdom won with "Scared of the dark" by Steps. Croatia returned after two years of absence. 

United Kingdom got 230 points and thus won the Contest! Runner-up is Greece (Eleni Foureira – “Vasilissa”) with 171 points, and the 3rd place goes to Ireland (Kodaline – “Follow Your Fire”) with 154 points. Croatian representative Franka Batelić ended up on 20th position out of 29 participants with 28 points. Thanks to all who voted for Franka: UK (7), Belarus (4), Hungary (2), Ukraine (1), Italy (4) and Czech Republic (10)!

The OGAE Song Contest is one of the contest held between the national branches of OGAE. Clubs can enter with an original song that was released within the last 12 months and sung in one of the country’s official languages.

2018 Contest has been organised by OGAE Australia, after Dami Im’s victory in 2017 with “Fighting for Love”.

Croatia, Cyprus, Ukraine and Bulgaria have returned to the contest. Bulgaria last participated in 2013, while Cyprus, Croatia and Ukraine all return after their last appearances in 2015. Armenia, Slovakia and the Rest of the World have withdrawn from this year’s contest.
