Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg or Hannover?

23. August 2010, 08:13

Four cities in Germany have officially applied to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 following Lena Meyer-Landrut's victory in Oslo with Satellite. A final decision is expected to be made within the next weeks (most probably in September).

The following cities are in the running: Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Hannover.

Apart from the German capital Berlin, Hamburg - which is the second biggest city in the country and the biggest one within the broadcast area of repsonsible broadcaster NDR - was seen as the most likely choice shortly after the victory. Hannover, home town of Lena, soon joined the group of the favourites. Düsseldorf, the capital and second biggest city of Northrhine-Westphalia, announced interest shortly after the victory in Oslo, too.
