At the spectacular DORA held last weekend, after a lengthy break, young and talented Roko completed his dream with the song of the same title – “The Dream” and won the contest. He expressed his emotions in a manner typical of the Eurosong contestants: “I’m out of my mind, Jesus Christ, thank you!” followed by the happy tears.
The statue of DORA, artistic work of Ivica Propadalo, was handed over by the Executive Director of HRT Kazimir Bačić, and the Ambassador of Israel to Croatia, HE Ilan Mor passed the warmest greetings of Tel Aviv and on behalf of the Israeli people wished Croatia good luck in Israel, at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Second position was held by Lorena with the song “Tower of Babylon” and the third by Luka Nižetić with the song “Brutalero”. More about this year’s DORA can be found here.
DORA returned to the city from which it started its journey in 1993. Live broadcast went from the Opatija’s Marino Cvetković hall. The winner was decided by the eight juries from across the HRT regional centres, and the studios in Vukovar and Zagreb, as well as by the viewers who called and sent SMSs. The jury and the popular vote weighted 50:50 in selecting the winner. The songs were aired following the rules of ESC with the recorded music, while the vocals went live. Maximum number of participants per song on the stage was six.
