Ogae contests
For many years now, OGAE International Network organizes several contests for OGAE clubs. Participation in these contests is voluntary.Croatian OGAE club - Eurofest Croatia - regularly participates in two contests - OGAE Second Chance Contest and OGAE Song Contest. Occasionally we participate in OGAE Video Contest.
OGAE Second Chance Contest (SCC)
OGAE SCC is an annual competition for countries that held their national final for the Eurovision Song Contest (this is DORA in Croatia). In this competition, “a second chance” is given to all songs save for the winning one, in order to introduce them to the European audience. Members of each OGAE club choose the song that will represent them in this competition with an internal vote. Voting takes place the “Eurovision” way. The competition has been organised by OGAE clubs ever since 1987. In the beginning, SCC was called “Europe’s Favourite”. (you can listen to all the songs by clicking on them. OGAE Song Contest (SC)
OGAE Song Contest is an annual contest. It was established in 1986. The aim of SC is presentation of songs not connected to Eurovision in any way. This means that the song didn't participate in national pre-selection for Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) nor on the ESC itself. Members of OGAE clubs are selecting the song to represent their country by internal voting procedure. The song must not be older than a year and it has to be on the language of its country.
SC is a very good way of getting to know current musical trends activities throughout Europe. How else could you hear great music from Malta, Norway, Ireland, Croatia, Georgia, Ukraine... OGAE Video Contest (VC)
OGAE Video Contest is an annual contest. VC is a video event in which, much like the OGAE Song Contest, all OGAE national clubs can enter with an original song and video released in the previous 12 months in their countries. There is no obligation on the entry for the Contest to be sung in one of the country's official language.
Due to the reduction of musical video production in Croatia, we participate in VC occasionally.
